Students of GeorgeTown University give their support to the Philippines

More than 100 people took part in the event that was organised by the FLAG Foreign Lawyers Association of GeorgeTown University to raise funds for the Philippines. Students of GeorgeTown University baked cakes and pastries to sell and raise funds for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

The efforts of students and volunteers managed to raise 627 dollars. This money will go towards rebuilding the lives of families in the Philippines.

For many years now, CODESPA has been supporting a hospitality training centre for young women on the island of Cebu. This island is very close to the affected area, which means that a lot of former pupils and relatives of the pupils as well as people from the centre have been affected by the typhoon. The money raised will help to build homes for them and to restore the training offered by this centre.
